Local authority landlords had long neglected fire safety. Danger of fire spreading was warned of many times in tower blocks. Using public archives of official reports I was able to use a paper trail to identify the number of times this issue and other fire safety concerns had been raised specifically in the London Borough of Southwark where the blaze left 6 people dead. Did refurbishment introduce new fire risks. As my evidence gets stronger on local authority neglect calls for a public inquiry mount. Council refuses to tell me if they had a valid Fire Risk Assessment on the block damaged by fire.

Research Conclusion: Why were basic checks not being followed up on?
